材赫的介绍:我叫卞材赫,莱斯大学二年级学生,专业 是 生物工程 。我喜欢听音乐,弹钢琴, 看电影和打羽毛球。 我特别喜欢学语言, 学过日语, 西班牙语还有中文。 我学过的语言中,中文学的时间最长。在韩国的高中先学过 一个学期,然后 来 莱斯大学又上了中文 201,202。今年暑假我会去南京大学学习中文六个星期。通过 这个机会,我 希望大大提高我的中文水平。把中文说流利以后,我可以尽快开始学习别的语言。

 My name is Evan Byun, and I’m a sophomore majoring in bioengineering. I like listening to music, playing piano, watching movies, and playing badminton. I especially like studying languages. I’ve studied Japanese and Spanish, as well as Chinese. Among the languages I’ve studied, I’ve spent the longest time studying Chinese. At high school back in Korea a studied it for one semester, then after coming to Rice I took Chinese 201 and 202. This summer, I will be going to Nanjing University to study Chinese for six weeks. Through this opportunity, I hope to greatly improve my level of Chinese. After becoming fluent in Chinese, I want to start studying another language as soon as I can.

娥林的介绍:我叫廉娥林,是莱斯大学二年级的学生。我上高中的时候开始学中文,可是上大学以前除了会读中文以外,其它中文能力都不太好。我对中文有兴趣是因为我喜欢跟中国朋友用中文聊天,而且会继续学中文来提高我的中文水平,今年暑假我和材赫一样,也会去南京学中文。我的专业是生物化学,现在在果蝇研究室做义工。我平常喜欢做饭,烤蛋糕,滑冰,旅行,和步行。

My name is Arim Yeom, and I’m a sophomore. I started learning Chinese when I was in high school, but except reading, I was not good at Chinese. Because I like using Chinese to talk with Chinese friends and want to improve Chinese, I want to continue studying, and I’m going to Nanjing this summer. I’m majoring in Biochemistry and Cell Biology, and I’m volunteering in a drosophila lab. I also like cooking, baking cakes, ice skating, traveling, and walking.

费琴的介绍:我叫费琴。两年以前,我一进莱斯大学,就开始学中文。从那时候起, 我每天都练习中文。为了提高我的中文水平,今年暑假我会去南京学习中文。我的专业是语言学。除了学中文以外,还很喜欢看书和学习别的外国语言,学过一点西班牙语,瑞典语,德语,韩语,罗马尼亚语等等。

My name is Gretchen Ferguson. Two years ago when I started Rice university, I also started studying Chinese. Since that time, I practice Chinese every day. In order to improve my Chinese, this summer I will go to Nanjing to study Chinese. My major is linguistics. In addition to studying Chinese, I also like reading and studying other foreign languages. I’ve studied a little bit of Spanish, Swedish, German, Korean, Romanian, etc.
